Events in Dresden

Dresden is not only recently an art and culture city. „August der Starke“ laid the foundation for this already in the 18th century. Dresden became the leading German cultural capital.

Today, we make use of the Repertoire of the collected works. Dresden is the home of a variety of Baroque, historical architecture, the accumulated artistic treasures in the museums and galleries. Thousands of visitors come to Dresden every year. And the celebrations, which were already legendary at the times of „August der Starke“, live again on today in the form of various events – they range the „Kunstfest Ostrale“ from neighborhood festivals, the famous Dixieland Festival, the movie nights on the banks of the river Elbe, the Dresden City Festival, to point to large rock and pop concerts.
